About this documentation and pnFlashGames

This documentation is a work in progress, as is the module itself. pnFlashGames was originally designed and written by Lee Eason (leason@pnflashgames.com). The author's intention with the module was to learn the PostNuke API. pnFlashGames quickly became very popular as a PostNuke module when version 0.5 was first released in the Fall of 2003. Subsequent releases brought more functionality and features. What began as a learning experiament has turned into a part time job. The author does not charge for the module or for it's support. Planned features include a global stats server in which participation may incur a small fee in order to cover the costs, but this has yet to be decided.

It is an honor for me to be able to contribute to the open source community and to the PostNuke community in particular. I have been programming with PHP for a few years now, and have using open source software for almost that long. Of all the open source projects communities I have been a part of, PostNuke most certainly has some of the brightest and most helpful people I have ever encountered. Markwest, Jorg, and Mhalbrook are so committed to the PostNuke forums, answering questions and offereing help wherever they can. The leaders of the PostNuke project are not only brilliant programmers, but also role models that we would do well to follow. Open source is not about taking, but giving. If nobody contributed then there would be no open source software to enjoy. I know it may sound mushy or false, but I am being very sincere here. Programming is indeed an art, and the artists heart is the key to his success.
